After purchasing the Detroit Lions in 1963, William Clay Ford owned the team until he passed away in spring of 2014. To commemorate his life, love of football, and commitment to the city of Detroit, a video tribute debuted at the Monday Night Football game at Ford Field in September 2014. The video was narrated by Jeff Daniels and included interviews with Barry Sanders, Charlie Sanders, Bill Ford Jr., Roger Goodell, Jerry Jones, Doug English, and Tom Lewand.
Various versions of the video tribute were used by Ford Motor Company, Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum throughout the year.
And as was the case with the rest of the rest of the Detroit Lions season campaign, credit goes to the small team of extremely talented account and creative people who I had the privilege to work alongside and to the The Work Inc.
